Situated in the old province of Normandy 80km from Paris, Giverny is a charming French commune that’s famously known as the home of the French impressionist painter, Claude Monet (1840-1926). While Paris is certainly not lacking in impressionist artwork, a trip to Giverny gives you a chance to see how the artistic and philosophical movement’s founder drew his inspiration from the natural world.
