Moving: How to Keep Receiving Your Mail?

Moving: How to Keep Receiving Your Mail?

Moving means juggling a thousand things at once. Between packing boxes, cancelling contracts, handling paperwork, and finding a new home, it’s easy to overlook one crucial detail: your mail. To avoid missing important documents, it’s essential to plan ahead. Here’s how to ensure your mail gets forwarded to your new address.

Notify the relevant organizations

First and foremost, make sure to update your address with all organizations that may send you mail. Here’s a (non-exhaustive) list not to forget:

  • Your CPAM and health insurance provider
  • Your bank and insurance companies
  • Your energy providers (electricity, gas, water)
  • Your internet and mobile service providers
  • The tax authorities (update your details via impots.gouv.fr)
  • Schools if you have children
  • Your press subscriptions, clubs, or other platforms

Good to know: most of these services now offer online platforms where you can update your address in just a few clicks.
