Now that summer has arrived, festival season has officially started! Paris has an incredible series of concerts and festivals taking place this summer for music lovers in the city. With so many events going on, you’re spoiled for choice! Here is our pick of the best summer concerts and festivals in Paris…
 

Fête de la Musique

The Fête de la Musique takes place every year on 21st June, which coincides with the summer solstice, and offers a free night of music all over Paris. The event was founded in 1982 by the Ministry of Culture. Both amateur and professional musicians take over the city and play in parks, squares, and even on street corners throughout the night across the capital. There are also some free concerts organised in public places such as the Musée d’Orsay, the Louvre, the Jardin du Luxembourg, etc.
 
Some metro lines, buses and trains will be running all night and you can buy a special ticket for the evening for €3.50 for unlimited journeys, allowing you to make the most of the evening and travel to lots of different locations!

FNAC Live

FNAC Live offers a series of 30 free outdoor concerts which take place on the square outside City Hall. It’s a popular event which attracts big crowds: more than 90,000 people went in 2017! There are lots of different acts playing different genres, so there’s something for everyone. There are some indoor concerts held inside the building as well.

La Plage de Glazart

The pop up beach at La Plage de Glazart is definitely not to be missed! With deck chairs, food trucks, cocktails and more, this is a perfect way to spend a summer afternoon and you can enjoy free concerts and outdoor clubbing in the evening too!

Paris Jazz Festival

The Paris Jazz Festival was founded in 1994 and takes place every year in the Parc floral de Paris. It welcomes both French and international jazz players for a series of open air concerts. It’s a great place to bring a picnic and enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the sun. The concerts are free, but you have to pay for entry into the park (€2.50 for adults and €1.50 for children over 7).

Rock en Seine

The Rock en Seine festival takes place every year at the end of August. It’s a very popular event and the festival gets bigger and better every year! With four stages and a great line up, it’s not to be missed! Bands such as Green Day, the Arctic Monkeys and the Foo Fighters have all previously played here, and this year’s line up includes Thirty Seconds To Mars, Liam Gallagher and Charlotte Gainsbourg. You can buy tickets for the whole festival or just for specific days.
