The 3 different types of baby-sitting<\/h2>\n

If you thought that the only babysitting option in Paris was paying a babysitter to come to your apartment, then you were wrong. There are 3 main types of babysitting and childcare services in Paris.

There are 2 different types of child minder: child minders who work for a nursery and child minders who work for individuals.
\nA child minder is a professional with an official certification approved by the General Council. With this type of childcare service:

\n– the price depends on the type of child minder and the services
\n– it’s a collective type of childcare services, so your child won’t be alone
\n– the childminder’s apartment is purpose-built
\n– You have to register your child beforehand at the City hall of your arrondissement and be put on a waiting list because municipal child minders are in high demand

Babysitter<\/h3>\n

This childcare service is the most popular with parents because of the flexibility of the schedule and the price, but also the fact that the babysitter is totally dedicated to their child. Babysitters don’t have any certifications, they are recruited by the agencies that check their skills during the interview.
\nThe babysitter:
\n– picks up your child after school
\n– brings your child back home
\n– prepares snacks, dinner, a bath and helps around the house
\n– the price is generally more than minimum wage and can change depending on the area and babysitter. In Paris it’s around 8 to 10\u20ac per hour.
