Spring has finally sprung and as we all stay home and do our part to flatten the curve and slow the spread of the Covid-19 virus, now is the perfect time to start planning out Summer 2020 home décor designs! Lodgis has found 10 of the hottest Summer 2020 interior design trends to look out for and to help you impress your friends and family once we can all visit each other again!
1. Vintage Accents
Both in Fashion and in Interior Decorating popular trends tend to fade out of the limelight and then come back around, and that’s exactly what is happening this summer! Designers are incorporating some popular interior design aspects from the 1800s and early 1900s into their designs, such as spindles and spooled legs. But the keyword here is ACCENT, meaning that these vintage pieces are few in the overall design of the space.

2. Navy Blue
Whether you see it as an accent wall, a new color for cabinets, or accent pillows, Navy Blue is making a grand entrance in the world of interior design due to its versatility and its newfound position as the 2020 Pantone Color of the Year! This color pairs well as a contrast for white without completely overwhelming the design and adds a subtle modern touch to any room.

3. Floral Wallpaper
Floral wallpaper is also making a comeback this summer as well! The large scale patterns, bold colors, and even the metallic accents will be making an appearance in bathrooms, foyers, and lounge rooms around the world as the world re-embraces florals in the home!
4. High Contrast Decor
If you’ve ever thought about incorporating dark colors, such as black, as a contrast then now’s the time to do it! High contrast décor is a big trend for Summer 2020, whether you want to use the navy blue we talked about earlier, or even including a black accent wall in your bedroom (as recommended by Queer Eye’s Interior Design Expert Bobby!), don’t be afraid to try something bold and new!

5. Canopy Beds
Canopy beds are making a comeback this summer, but in a much more modern feel! Rather than looking for a the regal bed covered in heavy fabric drapes and dense wood headboards, try looking for sleek and modern canopy beds made from lightweight metals or acrylics paired with light and airy curtains full of movement!
6. Patina Accents
Patina is a green or brown film on the surface of bronze or similar metals, produced by oxidation over a long period of time. Having patina accents gives your home a purposely distressed look and pairs well with a lot of the other Summer 2020 decoration trends on this list, such as the use of more vintage accent pieces.
7. Olive Trees
House plants have never gone out of style and we doubt they ever will! But this summer, try using an olive tree as décor to give your home a more sophisticated look with their soft sage leaves as opposed to more bright green blooms and leaves.
8. Antique Art
If you’re already an art collector then now is your chance to put those masterpieces on display! And if you’re not, then now is your chance to start! Interior designers are loving to utilize antique art pieces as home decorations to make the home feel more unique.
