Paris might just be one of the most photogenic cities in the world. From the Arc de Triomph to the Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower to the Sacre Coeur, there is no shortage of popular landmarks to capture. But could the best photography spots lie amongst Paris’s cobbled streets? With stunning architecture and amazing scenery a-plenty, you don’t need to be a professional to take some Instagram-worthy pictures to share during your time in the city.
1. Rue Crémieux
This Parisian street was practically made for Instagram. With colourful buildings lining the road, it is the perfect spot to get an iconic Parisian shot, and add a splash of colour to your camera roll. But be ready to share this popular place with other people who have had the same idea!
2. Rue de l’Université
For a stunning shot of the Eiffel Tower close up, without hundreds of people in the foreground, walk to the end of Rue de l’Université, just before you reach the Champ de Mars. There you will find the perfect spot to snap some photos of the city’s most famous landmark to share on your Instagram.
3. Avenue du President Wilson
There are many beautiful photo opportunities as you walk along this street, but the best one has to be this spot next to the Palais de Tokyo. Away from the crowds of people, this alternative view of the Eiffel Tower is framed by some wonderful Haussmanian architecture. While it’s an iconic view at any time of day, try going at sunset, or in the night time, when the Eiffel Tower lights up with golden sparkles for 5 minutes every hour, on the hour, making for a beautiful photo opportunity.
4. Rue des Barres
Visit this charming Parisian street for traditional architecture with a splash of colour. It’s a great place to stop for a photo, as well as a perfect location for some parisian people-watching near the banks of the River Seine.
5. Rue de l’Abreuvoir
This popular street in Montmartre is famous for its beauty, especially in the autumn when the leaves growing up the outsides of the buildings are changing colour. From some angles, you can get the Sacre Coeur in the background of your shot, or stand by La Maison Rose at the top of the hill for another great position to capture this street from.
